The Decline in the Antiques Market

We've been telling our customers for years that the market for traditional antiques and antique style reproductions has dropped drastically. Classic styles in the Chippendale, Sheraton, Hepplewhite, Queen Anne, Victorian, etc. have fallen out of favor. Dark mahogany, heavily carved walnut, oak, etc., are not desired by the younger couples and families furnishing their homes. While we still buy these items, we cannot pay what we paid 10-20 years ago.
